Run for Education June 1st 2019 Raleigh North Carolina

This is a run to support Ethiopian schools, colleges and universities to improve their libraries, their lesson offerings, the general infrastructure of the schools, school supplies, sports equipment, soccer balls, computers, energy sources and activities for youth empowerment. Since its inception the run continued until today. We intend to make the run a worldwide event to include as much as possible all agencies, community leaders and people of all ages to participate to support young people, schools, colleges and universities. This year we will conduct this 5k run twice a year and we call upon Ethiopian and Eritrean communities to support our charities by doing the runs in their localities. Our 2018 Raleigh NC Run for Books will occur on June 1st 2019. Please follow the direction shown in the picture.

History: We began our journey in 2009, during our AASDO mission 2009 in Asela Arsi Ethiopia. At that time a few former peace corps, their former students, teachers and Chilalo Terara High School students participated in a symbolic 5K run

Well, how’s life in America, I hope that is pretty Well for all the members of AASDO.
Today, I am very happy to get this marvelous chance to give gratitude especially for AASDO group that leads with former piscour teachers who thought in our school and former student Dr.Abebe Kebede the founder of AASDO to express our heart full feeling what AASDO has been doing for our and neighbors schools that is found in Arsi Zone.
Firstly, our school Chilalo Terara and others schools have got a lot of educational materials and money in order to accelerate the teaching learning process. The materials are given by AASDO are as follows:-

1. Reference book
2. Children books
   Literature books
3. Screen projector
4. Medicals books
5. One personal computer
6. Academic books
7. Computer and money
   Different balls

Secondly, after this donation of these materials most of the government and private school have been benefiting since 2002 E.C
Thirdly, by the donation of the books our library works all day and night especially at the weekend Saturday and Sunday. It has been working from 8am up to 8pm. Moreover, the library offers service not only to our school but also the students who comes from 12 (twelve) different government and private schools. So the books that donated by AASDO helps the students to increase reading habit and develop their academic performance. The other thing the books and the computers which is given by you were distributed for different school that are founded in Arsi Zone. For example 9 (nine) computers for Assela town schools 2 (two) computers for Bekoji sec. school, 1 (one) computer to Ketar Genet and 2 (two ) computer for Meraro Secondary. school. Beside to this some teachers and workers come to our library to use the books as a form of reference to do their research proposal, research, assignments. Consequently, the contribution of AASDO immensely improved the result and achievement of our students, other government and private schools alarmingly increased year to year. Finally, to mention some of the grade 10 students who took the national examination from 2007 E.C (140) students scored above 7A’S (4)points a very great distinction and some students scored above 3.57 get great distinction . This all students results comes by your kindness, so please don’t stop to help us in the future.
