Books and Educational Resources for Ethiopia- EEWB WONFEL Collaboration
EEWB has been very active in securing books for schools in the Asella-Arsi areas. Following this experience we expand our work to include many schools, colleges, and universities in collaboration with the Ethiopian Scientific and Academic (ESAN) community. (Click here for FUNDRAISING SITE)
The ESAN community members are spread throughout the world and will play a vital role in identifying needy schools and aggressive fundraising efforts. About 99% of the schools in Ethiopia have no library, and more than 57% of the people over the age of 15 are illiterate. However, in recent years, the country has made great strides in improving access to education for girls and poor children and improving the quality of education through improvements in higher education. English language education begins in elementary school, and high school and college courses are taught in English. Thus, there is a great need for books for classroom and library use.
Your donation to this project will impact more than one million students, their schools, and their communities. As it is told the Oceans Began With a Drop of Water, or the great old Ethiopian saying for One Man 50 Lemons become a Load, but for 50 people they are like ornaments; let’s help each other in this large-scale project. Our plan is to raise funds to ship 5 or more containers of books, used computers, and used sports gear and soccer balls.
The beneficiary schools are clustered around universities for seamless logistics and communications. The books will be distributed to schools where the logistics of the acquisition and delivery are considered smooth and reliable.

STEM EQUIPMENT AND INTERNET HOT SPOT SUPPORT EEDW-WONFEL COLLABORATION (CLICK HERE FUNDRAISING SITE)
I am writing to make a passionate appeal for your help in supporting schools and libraries in Ethiopia. The young people in Ethiopia are facing difficult circumstances beyond their control, which have left them without access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. I believe that we can make a difference by coming together and providing financial and material support to these communities.
I am specifically appealing for donations of equipment such as computers, internet hotspot modems, used iPads, and solar-powered educational materials. These resources can make a huge difference in the lives of young people in Ethiopia by providing them with the tools they need to learn and grow. Additionally, donations of sports equipment and soccer balls can help to promote physical activity and teamwork, which are essential for building healthy communities.
Your donations can help to bridge the gap between those who have access to resources and those who do not and can make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in Ethiopia. I urge you to consider making a donation today and to share this appeal with your networks to help spread the word.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Together, we can make a difference.

Ethiopian Educators Without Borders, North Carolina
Ethiopian Graduate Student Support – EEWD WONFEL COLLABORATION FUNDRAISING
High-achieving Ethiopian students who successfully completed their BS program in Ethiopia usually aspire to join prestigious graduate schools around the world. Most of these students are needy, and they can’t afford to pay the fees required for admission and graduate school application fees, GRE and TOEFL exam fees, and other fees. These needy students are being left behind. The Ethiopian Educators without Borders and the communities of the Ethiopian Scientific and Academic Network are working hard to bring this matter to the Ethiopian community and the international educator community. We are conducting this fundraising effort with the purpose of awarding a $1000 dollar scholarship per student to cover these costs. We are to the Ethiopian and international educator community to support this fundraising. The scholarship is awarded to students who qualify to apply for graduate schools in the US, and they must apply for PhD programs only. We institute a fair selection process conducted by EWD volunteers and the university departments that the students are graduating from. In order to sustain the program we will institute a cost recovery mechanism where the successful student, after two years of graduate school in the US, will agree to pay back with 100% interest.. Please support aspiring graduate students
