This program aims to open avenues for the best and brightest hardworking Ethiopian students to have access to higher education in the United States of America. The goal is to establish a system that will continue to expand as each member of the program becomes responsible for creating an opportunity for another fellow Ethiopian. In the first phase, we will sponsor 5 students that will meet all requirements described below. Then, selected students will receive $2500 scholarship fund to cover for TOEFL and GRE exam fees, 5 university application fees and other miscellaneous expenses. In addition, they will receive guidance on university application processes, supporting materials for exam preparations and become part of Building Ethiopian Talent (BET) Mentorship Program.

Requirements to receive the scholarship fund are outlined below:

• Have a BSc. degree from one of Ethiopian universities. Juniors and Seniors from Universities in Ethiopia  are encouraged to apply
• Minimum GPA of 3.75/4.00, extracurricular activities and three letters of recommendation are required (It is highly recommended that recommenders have Ph.D. with Professor titles)
• Can only apply to Ph.D. programs in the United States
• Sign an agreement to payback the exact amount received in their 3^rd year of their graduate studies. The payment can be made as early as their first years.
• Sign an agreement to sponsor another student in an amount needed to pay for GRE, TOEFL and for 3 university application fees.
• Sign an agreement to become part of BET Mentorship Program to provide support for other fellow Ethiopians. Taking responsibilities in BET Mentorship Program will start in the 2^nd year of their Ph.D. program, however, their acceptance to the scholarship fund will grant them membership to BET Mentorship Program.  

This program targets those who are willing to step out of their comfort zone and have a great vision for themselves and their country.
