Fikadu Reta is an Assistant Professor at Hawassa University, College of Agriculture, Human Nutrition program in Ethiopia. He received his BSc in Rural Development and Family Sciences from Hawassa University, and MSc in Agricultural Development from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. In addition, he is currently pursuing his PhD in Human Nutrition at the University of Gent in Belgium with a research focus on the role of farmer cooperatives to sustain home grown school feeding and improve farmers’ income. Fikadu is currently leading nutrition based collaborative projects funded by USAID and Nuffic of total budget about 2 million Euros. Moreover, Fikadu leads the agriculture to nutrition (ag2nut-Ethiopia) online forum of scholars, which is the leading online forum of nutrition related groups. He is also working as a communication focal person for the newly started Ethiopian Nutrition Leaders Network. Fikadu is among the founding members and manager of the Youth and Education Support Services Ethiopia (YessEthiopia). Fikadu is a proactive person with special interest related to youth empowerment; teamwork and missions focused on inclusive and sustainable development goals in Ethiopia.
